About us

Narrowing the gap between small vendors, their customers and the community

Ăn Hạnh Phúc is a social project applying technology to build a digital map platform that connects small vendors facing hardship with customers and the community. We want to turn scattered information into more convenient connections, so that everyone can find, choose and support people who make a living through their own labour.

Why Ăn Hạnh Phúc exists

How it began

More than once I have come across an elderly person beside a small stall, a person with a disability making a living on the pavement, or workers earning their keep with things they make and sell themselves.

I wanted to stop and buy something, to support what they sell — but I did not know what they sold, where they usually were, or when they would be there. Sometimes their stories are shared on social media and draw a lot of attention, only to be swept away by the flood of new information.

“How many people would also like to help, but do not yet know how to find and connect with these vendors?”
The question that started Ăn Hạnh Phúc

From that restlessness, Ăn Hạnh Phúc was born, wanting to turn care into more practical action. We believe sharing does not always have to start with something big — it can simply be knowing what they sell, finding where they sell it, and choosing to buy something you need.

Solution

The Ăn Hạnh Phúc solution

Ăn Hạnh Phúc builds a digital map combined with a vendor information system, helping people easily discover small businesses and find products that fit their needs.

For vendors

  • Register to introduce themselves and their business.
  • Keep products, location and selling hours up to date.
  • Be found more easily by customers through the platform.

  • Discover places to buy on the map.
  • Learn about products and about the vendors.

How the platform works

Ăn Hạnh Phúc receives information from three sources:

  1. Vendors register themselves

They provide their own information and introduce their business.

  2. Users suggest

Sharing information about vendors they know, helping the community find them.

  3. Administrators add

Proactively updating vendor information to widen the data on the platform.

Information is managed and updated following the project's operating process, aiming for accuracy, transparency and respect for vendors.

Thank you to those who walked with us from the very first steps

Ăn Hạnh Phúc is here today not because anyone gave a lot of money, but because people were willing to try an app that still had bugs, to give feedback while it was still ugly, to tell a friend while nobody had heard of it. The names below are the reason this map is still being drawn.

For lunch today, visit a small vendor.

Nothing big is needed. Just change one meal.
